26. Miami Marlins, 3-9, last in the NL East

The Marlins may be one of the only team in their division without postseason dreams for 2019, and their play is backing up that thought process. With a roster that combines veterans like Starlin Castro and Curtis Granderson alongside younger players like Lewis Brinson and Sandy Alcantara, this team isn’t planning on winning many games in 2019.

Keep an eye on the Marlins as sellers later this season with a lot of prospects expected to make the big league roster in 2020. Players like Granderson, Castro, Brian Anderson and others could all be potential trade pieces.

25. Chicago White Sox, 3-8, fourth in the AL Central

While the team was in the hunt for Manny Machado, their middle infield has performed incredibly in their first nine games of the season. Shortstop Tim Anderson is currently slashing .517/.533/.793 with two HR’s and a team-high 15 hits, while 2B Yoan Moncada leads the team in RBI with 11 and currently sports a .945 OPS. Top prospect Eloy Jimenez has yet to homer but White Sox fans are excited to see the big OF play frequently for the big-league club.

However, the pitching has been subpar, as only the Cubs, Diamondbacks and Red Sox are allowing more runs per game at 6.44 RA/G. Carlos Rodon has performed well with a 3.38 ERA on the season, while the two newest bullpen additions reliever Kelvin Herrera and new closer Alex Colome have allowed a combined two runs while striking out nine batters with no walks. The rest of the pitchers have struggled to start 2019, but reinforcements are on the way — just don’t expect them until much later in the season.
