WWE 205 Live recap for April 9, 2019: Tony Nese vs Buddy Murphy

What happens next week?

Mustafa Ali’s success has shown that cruiserweights getting called up to Raw or SmackDown is an option. It is possible that Cedric Alexander could be on the move since his big feud with Oney Lorcan was fast-tracked for a match next week and he has accomplished everything possible on 205 Live. Buddy Murphy, Drew Gulak and Mike Kanellis all could be options as well, with their styles easily adapting to a bigger brand.

Alexander facing Lorcan is the only match advertised for next week. A new title contender will be needed to face off with Tony Nese after Murphy lost in his rematch. Lorcan could become a huge player in the title picture with a win over Alexander.

There is also the potential of new stars joining 205 Live. Many die-hard fans have wanted to see an underutilized talent like Chad Gable receive a chance to showcase his potential on the smaller show. Quite a few standout stars from NXT could also make the move.

Next week’s episode is going to shake things up for all WWE brands, and 205 Live will be part of those big changes.
