2. Pasta!

Can you believe we got through the entire “playoff experience” slide without even mentioning David Pastrnak?! Insanity!

Pasta is a known nemesis of the Maple Leafs. Who knows what this kid has against Toronto but he torches them every time the two original six franchises meet. Pick a Bruins vs. Leafs game and check the stat sheet. Chances are they were serving Pasta that night.

In last year’s first-round playoff matchup, Pastrnak put up a beautiful six-point performance for the Bruins in Game 2.  He’s recorded hat tricks, game winners, you name it. This guy is very, very good at hockey. When he plays the Leafs, he might as well be wearing the number 99.

Pastrnak’s 2018-19 season was slowed by an injury suffered in February of this season. Still, in 66 games the Bruins winger had 38 goals and 43 assists, good for a 1.23 points per game average, ranking him eighth in the NHL, one spot behind Brad Marchand and one spot ahead of Patrice Bergeron. The Bruins are the only team in the NHL to have all three top-line players in the top 10 for this stat.

In order for the Bruins to get by a stacked Toronto Maple Leafs, Pasta is going to have to keep cooking. He’s showed no sign of slowing down this season, especially against the Buds, so expect to see more offensive brilliance from the Bruins top line. If they B’s want a shot at the Stanley Cup, Pastrnak is going to have to provide that same magic for the rest of the playoffs as well. He’s definitely good enough to do so.
