High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

D’Angelo Russell (at PHI – $8,700): Needs 41.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 42.25 fantasy points against Miami. No Joel Embiid means Russell will have an easier time controlling the Nets offense. He averaged 1.35 FPPM in four games against the Sixers this season. He’s the Nets best offensive player and with Embiid out, arguably the best offensive player on either team. If anyone is going to provide a big game for Brooklyn, it’ll be him. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Stephen Curry (vs LAC – $8,300): Needs 39.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 7.25 fantasy points against New Orleans. I’m only going to say this once to save words; don’t worry too much about the LAST GAME numbers for a lot of these players. Curry played just nine minutes against the Pelicans. He will play more than nine minutes against the Clippers. And he will probably dominate the Clippers because that’s what he does. He averaged 1.49 FPPM against them in three games this season. He relishes this matchup. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Lou Williams (at GS – $6,200): Needs 29.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.75 fantasy points against Utah. The Clippers don’t have much firepower and this series probably won’t be all that competitive. But I know that Lou will bring it. See what I did there? He typically plays very well against the Warriors and averaged 38.3 fantasy points in three games against them this season. He’ll need to be big and I fully expect him to do his best. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Jamal Murray (vs SA – $6,000): Needs 28.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40 fantasy points against Minnesota. Murray was hot coming into the playoffs and even though he can be a bit all over the place because he’s a streaky player, this is a matchup he’s done well against this season. He averaged 37.4 fantasy points against the Spurs in four games. And that number is brought down by a 19.75 fantasy point game back on Dec. 26. He was over 40 fantasy points in the other three games. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
