High Salary C

Players costing over $6,250

Nikola Vucevic (at TOR – $8,500): Needs 41.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 52.5 fantasy points against Boston. Vucevic was very good during the season and even though I expect the Raptors to be locked in, Vucevic is the best player on the Magic and this is when the best players have to step up. He averaged 1.65 FPPM in four games against the Raptors this season if you’re looking for some confidence. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

DeMarcus Cousins (vs LAC – $7,000): Needs 34.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 49.5 fantasy points against New Orleans. I’m 100% here for playoff DeMarcus, not Boogie, Cousins. He’s going to play big minutes and he’s probably going to dominate the Clippers because they don’t have anyone who can stop him. Cousins will show up in a big way. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

High Value C

Players costing $6,250 or under

Marc Gasol (vs ORL – $5,400): Needs 26.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 20 fantasy points against Minnesota. Gasol was all over the place since the trade to Toronto but I have to trust him to show up in the playoffs. He’s another guy that was brought to Toronto to help prove they aren’t playoff chokers. And he’s at a good salary. He has a high ceiling but a low floor, so he is a risk. But I have a good feeling about him. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.

Jarrett Allen (at PHI – $4,400): Needs 21.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 25 fantasy points against Miami. No Embiid should be a huge benefit for Allen. He can be all over the place but the minutes should definitely be there without Embiid and I’m going to trust him to deliver based on the circumstances. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
