3. Chris Lindstrom

Lindstrom is a prospect who is really starting to rise as the draft approaches. In particular, his play at the Senior Bowl really got scouts excited about the sort of player he can become. He was good for Boston College during his collegiate career, but he’s got the chance to become an even better pro.

His best attribute is the quick feet he shows at the line of scrimmage. That allows him to get in front of blockers even when he makes a misstep. Perhaps more important, Lindstrom is fast enough to get to the outside from the guard position to block defenders in the run game.

The downside to Lindstrom as a prospect is his lack of strength. He’s going to need to add some weight to stand up to the pounding required to play inside in the NFL. He might need a little time to reach his full potential, but it’s possible he could turn into a Pro Bowl guard with the right coaching and physical development.

The upside Lindstrom has shown teams during the pre-draft process makes him a real possibility to go off the board just before the Texans go on the clock. If Gaine and company really like him, they may face a nervous wait to see if they get the chance to select him.
