27. Raiders (via Dallas Cowboys) – Henry Ruggs, WR, Alabama

The Raiders drafted Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with their first pick and now they get one of his favorite targets with the Tide. Henry Ruggs had a breakout sophomore season last year with 46 catches for 741 yards and 11 touchdowns. The 6’0″, 183-pound Ruggs also averaged 18.4 yards on 13 kick returns as a freshman so he does bring some added value as a return man.

If Ruggs was at the Combine this year, he likely would have run one of the fastest times among all participants. He can absolutely fly and few possess the type of game-breaking speed and acceleration that he brings to the table. In a year where the draft-eligible receivers have some warts, it’s the underclassmen receivers that offer a lot of promise and potential for NFL teams.
