Some recruits are able to step in right away and play because of their size and strength in addition to their talent.  The nation’s top guard recruit Justin Rogers is one of those five-star recruits that could very well find himself on the playing field off the bat.

Rogers is 6’2″ and 311 pounds and has the power to back his size up. He also has an impressive wingspan, which sometimes can plague shorter guards. With his low center of gravity and strength, Rogers isn’t going to get overpowered on the inside.

He might be able to move around in a pinch, but with his low base, he’s probably destined to remain an interior lineman. He’s aggressive and is going to maul at the line of scrimmage when he gets moving.

Rogers has also spent time playing on the defensive side of the ball at the high school level, which will play well to his ability to compete in the trenches. The Michigan product is being sought after by both Michigan and Ohio State, which is no surprise.

However, with the way Georgia has developed interior lineman and the way they run the ball, it might be the best place for Rogers to showcase his talent. Dominating in the trenches in the SEC would go a long way toward elevating his stock at the next level.
