High Salary PG

Players costing over $6,250

Russell Westbrook (at POR – $10,300): Needs 50.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 54 fantasy points against Portland. The Thunder have to shoot better in Game 2, right? And if they shoot better, Westbrook will get more assists. I’m never worried about numbers when it comes to Westbrook and he’s always going to be a triple-double threat. A lot went wrong for OKC in Game 1 and Westbrook still delivered a strong output. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Damian Lillard (vs OKC – $8,700): Needs 42.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 46.5 fantasy points against Oklahoma City. Lillard will have to continue to carry things for Portland and he can most certainly do it. He’ll work hard for his numbers but he’ll get his numbers simply because he’s arguably the best player on the floor (especially with this version of Paul George). Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

D.J. Augustin (at TOR – $5,600): Needs 27.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40 fantasy points against Toronto. I fully expect the Raptors to be better in Game 2 because something weird happens to them in Game 1, no matter who is on the roster it seems. And they are a better team. But Augustin is not afraid in this moment and will continue to get the minutes. But don’t buy a ton of Magic stock based on Game 1. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.

Dennis Schroder (at POR – $5,300): Needs 25.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 23.75 fantasy points against Portland. You know what you’re getting out of Schroder, which means you don’t know what you’re getting out of Schroder. The minutes and opportunities are there, it’s just a matter of shots going in. He should do enough to at least get you value again. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
