2. Johnathan Abram

Speaking of confident SEC defensive backs, Abram makes Baker look like he’s unconvinced in his own ability. It’s very possible that Abram was the most self-assured defensive back in college football last season.

The Eagles would draft Abram as a safety who can take over for Malcolm Turner in pretty short order. He’s also athletic enough to play some slot corner for Philadelphia in the short-term. Abram is just a guy who makes plays wherever you line him up.

The former Mississippi State star also seems like a guy who can thrive in the cauldron that is Philadelphia. That’s an underrated factor of who the Eagles should be drafting in Round 1. Wallflowers need not apply to play for this franchise.

It’s possible Abram might be plucked just before the Eagles go on the clock at No. 25, but the odds favor him lasting this long. If Abram does last this long, he’d give Philadelphia a prospect who should be a mainstay in their secondary for years to come. That’s solid value this late in Round 1.
