2019 NFL mock draft: Bengals draft Drew Lock to replace Andy Dalton
By Brad Weiss
The Atlanta Falcons were another very good NFC team that failed to make the playoffs last season, and after the year was done, they cut ties with a lot of their coaching staff. They did keep their head coach in place, giving Dan Quinn another year to get this thing turned around, but it is going to be tough in a very deep NFC South division.
While the division is going to be hard to win, they have at least enough talent to win a Wild Card spot, and they made the right move by bringing back Grady Jarrett. He is an absolute beast on the interior of their defensive line, and bringing in Christian Wilkins with their first round pick would give the a solid duo in there.
Of course, this defense is only going to improve if Vic Beasley Jr. can get back to being a monster on the outside for them. Beasley was once one of the better sack masters in the NFL, but he has not produced over the past two seasons, and it has really affected what the Falcons like to do defensively.
Atlanta is going to be fine, and if they can get another good season out of Matt Ryan, they should be in the mix for a playoff spot this season. There is just too much talent on this roster to miss the playoffs two straight years, and the hope is they can bring in a player like Wilkins to solidify the defensive line later this month.
