FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – April 17, 2019
High Salary SG
Players costing over $6,667
James Harden (vs UTA – $12,600): Needs 54.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 53.6 fantasy points against Utah. You typically know what you’re getting with Harden as the ceiling is high and he has the ball in his hand for the majority of the game. He costs a lot, but he can also break the system. And given the matchup and his minutes, he’ll at least be at value. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
Khris Middleton (vs DET – $7,100): Needs 31 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26 fantasy points against Detroit. Much like a lot of Bucks, minutes are a concern for Middleton. But I’m not a fan of Mitchell due to the Rockets game plan. Mitchell has a higher ceiling just because he’s the best offensive player on a not so great offensive team. But Middleton is more reliable, especially if the Pistons can make it somewhat competitive. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
High Value SG
Players costing $6,667 or under
Eric Gordon (vs UTA – $4,500): Needs 19.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.1 fantasy points against Utah. Gordon is going to get the minutes for the Rockets and he’s going to get his chances because of the Rockets offense. And he’s at a great salary given those minutes and opportunities. He’s not exactly reliable because he can go cold but the ceiling is good. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
Sterling Brown (vs DET – $4,500): Needs 19.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37.1 fantasy points against Detroit. Brown is starting for the Bucks and given their offense, he will continue to get his opportunities because the Bucks share the ball around and the Pistons can’t guard everyone. He has a high ceiling and is even more reliable than Gordon. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
