High Salary PF

Players costing over $6,667

Derrick Favors (at HOU – $7,000): Needs 30.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.7 fantasy points against Houston. I’m not in love with Favors, especially at this salary. I still don’t like this matchup for him even though he has done better against the Rockets this season compared to last. But this salary feels too high for what he’s shown he can give you. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.

Jayson Tatum (vs IND – $6,900): Needs 30 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 24.6 fantasy points against Indiana. We know Tatum can step up but with Kyrie in the lineup and Hayward looking more like himself, this isn’t a time where he’s all that needed. Not against this matchup and not at this salary. His ceiling is high, higher than Favors, but there’s better value elsewhere. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Marcus Morris (vs IND – $5,100): Needs 22.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.4 fantasy points against Indiana. One person who offers better value due to the salary is Morris. He plays a reliable game at home and he’s going to get the shots. His game typically doesn’t travel all that well but this is a good matchup and I typically trust him in Boston. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

PJ Tucker (vs UTA – $4,600): Needs 20 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.3 fantasy points against Utah. But if you really want to save money, you can go with PJ Tucker. He’s going to get big minutes for the Rockets and plenty of opportunities to contribute in multiple areas. He’s at a great salary given his minutes and he should once again do enough to at least get you value in this one. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a decent ceiling.
