9. Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers

The two best teams (record-wise) in the AFC shared a division last season, with the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers each putting up 12-4 records. The Chiefs emerged with home-field advantage due to a better divisional record, sending the Chargers on the road in the playoffs, where they won a round at Baltimore before falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion Patriots on divisional weekend.

These two bitter rivals split their meetings during the regular season, with the Chiefs rolling by the Chargers at StubHub Center in Week 1 before the Chargers scored a massive upset at Arrowhead later in the season. This game also features a tremendous quarterback matchup between the ascending Patrick Mahomes and underrated veteran Philip Rivers, who is running out of chances to get to a Super Bowl. It also happens to be in Mexico City.

Even though the Raiders have improved and the Broncos have a new starting quarterback in Joe Flacco, the AFC West should still come down to the meetings between these two teams. The Chargers have proven to be one of the few teams in football with enough firepower to keep up with Kansas City, meaning this game should have plenty of offense.

High flying offense, an intense divisional rivalry, and excellent quarterback play ensure that Chiefs-Chargers should be one of the biggest games of the season. Don’t miss it.
