It’s been a disappointing few seasons for the Washington Redskins since winning the NFC East in 2015. Can the franchise return to its winning ways?

Back in 2015 and with strong-armed Kirk Cousins in his first full season as a starter, the Washington Redskins got hot late in the season and won the NFC East. Since then, there was an 8-7-1 finish in ’16, followed by consecutive 7-9 campaigns these past two years. Jay Gruden’s team owned a 6-3 mark this past season before disaster befell the quarterback position.

The ‘Skins dropped six of their final seven games, hence another losing season. There were some strides made this past year on defense but this is a club in need of some help on the other side of the football. Is the franchise playing a waiting game when it comes to bolstering its offense?

Here is how the complete schedule, week-by-week, lays out for the Washington Redskins:

Week 1: at Philadelphia Eagles
Week 2: vs. Dallas Cowboys
Week 3: vs. Chicago Bears (Mon.)
Week 4: at New York Giants
Week 5: vs. New England Patriots
Week 6: at Miami Dolphins
Week 7: vs. San Francisco 49ers
Week 8: at Minnesota Vikings (Thurs.)
Week 9: at Buffalo Bills
Week 10: BYE
Week 11: vs. New York Jets
Week 12: vs. Detroit Lions
Week 13: at Green Bay Packers
Week 14: at Carolina Panthers
Week 15: vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Week 16: vs. New York Giants
Week 17: at Dallas Cowboys

Team president Bruce Allen signed one of the top free agents available in March when the club added former New York Giants’ safety Landon Collins. The team also orchestrated a trade with the Denver Broncos for quarterback Case Keenum. But is Washington done addressing the position this offseason?

With nine overall selections and four picks in the first three rounds, the Redskins have an opportunity to pick up some good young prospects. Of course, there’s also the idea that the club could put together a package and make a move on Arizona Cardinals’ quarterback Josh Rosen. It’s going to be fascinating to see how it unfolds.
