WWE 205 Live recap for April 16, 2019: Cedric Alexander vs Oney Lorcan

Cedric Alexander vs Oney Lorcan

Vic Joseph expresses his pride of calling many of Cedric Alexander’s best matches for the cruiserweight division before the start of the match. Oney Lorcan and Alexander exchange holds to battle for momentum. The early portion of the match is controlled by Lorcan with a stiff headlock.

A couple of dropkicks from Alexander changes the pace of the match in his favor. Lorcan and Alexander start to exchange some vicious chops that leaves the commentary team stunned. Alexander’s attempt at a dive is countered by Lorcan allowing Lorcan to regain control after Alexander’s short stint on top.

A few comebacks from Alexander fall short each time. Lorcan continues to control the match with his style. A powerbomb into a single-leg Boston Crab gives him a chance to win. Alexander considers submitting before fighting his way to the bottom rope to break up the submission.

Both men end up on the top rope until Alexander shoves Lorcan to the outside. Alexander takes flight for a graceful dive over the top rope, after missing it earlier in the match. Lorcan, however, finds a way to reverse another top-rope attack in the ring with an uppercut.

Alexander and Lorcan continue exchanging stiff hits on the ring apron once again in risky fashion. Lorcan hits his Half and Half Suplex on the ring apron and tosses Alexander back in the ring. A Lariat into another Half and Half Suplex gives Lorcan the win in the middle of the ring.

Winner: Oney Lorcan

The crowd chants “Thank You, Cedric” as both men shake hands following the match. Lorcan shows respect to Alexander before leaving the ring. Alexander’s music plays as he stands in the ring for one final time on 205 Live.
