Sunday Night Football Grade: B+

While the Sunday night slate is strong as a whole, it does feel like they don’t have that one killer game that rates as a

true must-see event. Neither conference championship rematch ended up on Sunday Night, or in primetime for that matter, with Saints-Rams going to Fox in Week 2 while CBS got the Chiefs-Patriots showdown in Week 13.

As a matter of fact, the only playoff rematch to end up on the Sunday night package was Colts-Chiefs in Week 5, but it shouldn’t matter since we get plenty of the usual suspects on NBC. There is no Giants-Cowboys game for the first time in a long time, but that is more a factor in the Giants’ loss of star power than anything to do with Dallas.

It’s tough to truly judge a schedule in April, before the draft is held or any games are played, but on paper NBC appears to have a solid slate as usual. The ability to flex out of bad matchups should bring this grade up by the end of the season, making NBC’s games must-see TV once again.
