NFL schedule 2019: Biggest game for all 32 teams
Green Bay Packers: at Chicago Bears
In what could be considered a complete shocker (not), another NFC North team’s biggest game is against the Bears. The Green Bay Packers are the other half of the NFL’s oldest rivalry, a pair the league is showcasing on Opening Night in Chicago to commemorate the league’s 100th season.
Things look a bit different in Green Bay after Mike McCarthy was dismissed with just weeks to go last season, leaving Joe Philbin in charge of the Packers. The Packers tabbed Titans’ offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur to replace McCarthy, and they have helped him out by spending significant money in free agency.
Green Bay has added significant talent on the defensive side of the ball and owns two first round picks in this year’s draft, so they have a tremendous chance to reclaim the NFC North title with Aaron Rodgers under center. The Packers stunned the Bears with Rodgers leading an epic comeback in Week 1 a year ago, but the Bears returned the favor at Soldier Field later in the year.
With this game set to open the season, the Packers will get an immediate opportunity to set the tone for the division with a win in Chicago. Beating the Bears would be a great start to the LaFleur era in Green Bay.
