Dallas Cowboys: vs. Los Angeles Rams

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t been to the NFC Championship game since the mid-90’s, but there are plenty of reasons for optimism in Big D. The offense has a new set of triplets in Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Amari Cooper while Jason Witten is back to add a reliable chain mover to the attack.

The bigger surprise for Dallas was the emergence of its defense, which became a force behind young playmakers like Demarcus Lawrence and rookie Leighton Vander Esch. The Cowboys won the NFC East behind that defense and knocked out the Seahawks on Wild Card weekend, but their road ended at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the Divisional round.

The Rams ran all over the Cowboys in that game, racking up 273 yards on the ground to eliminate Dallas, an embarrassing display from a proud defense. Dallas has surely had this game circled on its calendar for a long time, and they will be highly motivated to deliver some revenge against the Rams.

These two teams should be fighting for the playoffs once again, meaning this game could be a huge one for seeding purposes. The winner could end up earning a first round bye or even home field advantage, so it will be massive for both sides.
