This Coffey is too strong!

Seems the Gallus theme is like, a thing? The NXT UK twitter account goes on about it every time someone from the faction wrestles. It’s pretty good, kind of sounds like a knock-off Black Keys. Anyway, the Coffey Brothers get tested, but are never in much peril, in a fairly easy win here over Humberto Carrillo and Raul Mendoza of NXT.

Carrillo and Mendoza get in some offense — notably a pair of stereo dives and a beautiful-looking moonsault/450 splash combo — but the Coffeys are too strong, too tenacious and too all-around beefy.

Despite being brothers, the Coffeys only recently started teaming together, which becomes very apparent when they don’t have a cool double-team finisher. Coffey, Joe gets the three-count with a lariat he calls something with a long and hard-to-remember name, which is apparently something UK wrestlers like to do.

Regardless, if they keep tagging regularly,  the Coffey Brothers look to be a dominant force in the NXT UK tag division. A matchup between them and the Grizzled Young Veterans, heels versus heels, could be damn good. Put it on those Glasgow TV tapings we keep hearing all about.

This victory also does well towards progressing Gallus’ goal of global domination. Getting a victory in New York over a pair of Mexican wrestlers? That’s a two-fer.
