1. Wood scores as Burnley hold Chelsea to draw at Stamford Bridge

Burnley look like they’re going to stay in the Premier League for another season after having a horrendous start to their league campaign. Sean Dyche has once again worked wonders in charge of the Clarets and with each season that they remain in the top flight the greater chance they have of getting bigger.

Chelsea and Maurizio Sarri have had the role reversal of that situation this season. Sarri’s Chelsea looked unbeatable to begin with but their Premier League season has petered out almost. They are still in the fight for a top four spot but in the beginning it looked like they could really challenge for the title.

The Blues main focus now is a top four finish in order to secure Champions League soccer next season. However, should the London side win the Europa League then they could qualify for the Champions League that way.

That doesn’t mean the Chelsea can relax in the league though. They welcome a very tough and resilient Burnley side to Stamford Bridge on Monday and Sarri will know that this game won’t be easy for his side.

Burnley have rekindled their defensive stability whilst Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes have been doing enough goalscoring for the Clarets to win games. Sean Dyche will not think that his side will win this match but he should fancy their chances of getting a draw.

Chelsea look like they run out of ideas when they come up against a well organised defensive side. This was the case when they played Cardiff recently — a match which they narrowly won thanks to some dubious refereeing decisions.

Sean Dyche should look to that Cardiff performance as inspiration for his own side. They should be able to put in a similar defensive performance and if they do then the Clarets can definitely come away from Stamford Bridge with a point.
