30. . EDGE. New York Jets. Josh Allen. 3. player

No team did more in free agency than the New York Jets. Now, armed with the third-overall pick in the draft, General Manager Mike Maccagnan gets another impact starter with edge rusher Josh Allen. There’s a lot of talk about the Jets wanting to move back in the drafter and take defensive tackle Ed Oliver. However, Allen would be a perfect fit for New York’s defense, with super-aggressive coordinator Gregg Williams running the show.

It’s well known that New York has been disappointed with the play of linebacker Darron Lee, who has never become the impact player the Jets expected. Allen steps in to fill that void. New York spent most of its time upgrading the offense over the last few months with the notable exception of linebacker C.J. Mosley. Adding Allen makes ample sense here.

Oakland Raiders. Quinnen Williams. 4. player. 28. . DT

The Oakland Raiders have three picks in the first round, and all three should be dedicated to fixing the defense. No team had a more embarrassing pass rush in 2018, with Oakland notching a league-worst 13 sacks. Although Allen and Bosa are off the board, General Manager Mike Mayock should be thrilled about taking Quinnen Williams in this spot.

With Williams playing alongside Maurice Hurst on the inside of Oakland’s 4-3 scheme, the Raiders should be able to provide push up the gut. With their latter two picks Thursday, there’s good value to be had with other edge-rush prospects.
