16. . LB. Buffalo Bills. Devin Bush. 9. player

Plenty of teams pay lip service to taking the best available player. The Bills should actually be following that idea, considering the team has legitimate holes across the roster. While the tendency might be to plug an offensive player into this spot, Devin Bush is simply better than any of those remaining players.

Bush would immediately give Buffalo another top-end defender to put on a unit that is rapidly becoming one of the best in the league. Buffalo can make up for its offensive issues in the later rounds, hopefully finding value on the second day.

45. . QB. Denver Broncos. Drew Lock. 10. player

This screams John Elway from the hilltops. Elway loves his quarterbacks to be strong-armed and built big (see Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch), and Drew Lock checks both of those boxes. Denver traded for Joe Flacco back in March, but don’t think that will impact Elway’s decision here. If he believes Lock is a franchise quarterback — and his thoughts on Lock have been the worst-kept secret throughout football for months — he won’t hesitate.

The AFC West isn’t going to be won by mediocre quarterback play considering Patrick Mahomes and Philip Rivers reside in it. Elway knows he needs to upgrade under center, and Lock represents a chance to do that.
