2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray, Nick Bosa kick things off
The Redskins have a variety of needs. They could draft Daniel Jones here. They could add another corner to their leaky secondary. They could give Case Keenum a weapon and hope to address quarterback either through a trade or in next year’s draft. Here, we take the third option.
D.K. Metcalf has some concerns such as being too big in his upper body to change direction. But he also has too much talent to slip any further. Metcalf dealt with injuries at Ole Miss, but he’s a freak athlete who blew up the NFL Scouting Combine back in March. If Metcalf reaches his full potential, he could be the best receiver Washington has had in some time.
Of any player in the draft, Rashan Gary might be the toughest to evaluate. Watching his tape, you see a player with elite traits. If he puts them all together, there’s no reason Gary can’t be a Pro Bowler at the next level. On the other side, Gary didn’t produce the way those traits would indicate he should have while with Michigan.
Considering Burns, Oliver, Ferrell and Sweat are all off the board, Gary makes sense here. The Panthers have a quality coaching staff and should be able to get the best out of the youngster.
