Points of Significance

  • These players are being taken at the point in both rookie drafts or startup drafts where you are rolling the dice. You are not investing a high pick, so you should expect a low success rate on these picks. That said, you should identify the players in this group you like and be willing to go after them a round or two earlier than their ADP (average draft position).
  • The players with the best return on this list, because they are being undervalued, are: Irv Smith, Jr. (similar talent level to the two tight ends above him who are being taken way earlier), Miles Boykin (huge showing at the Combine and can do everything well, even if he is raw), Alexander Mattison (being undervalued because he did not show as well at the Combine), Stanley Morgan, Jr. (very well-rounded player who can contribute right away) and Darwin Thompson (because of his explosiveness).

It will be fascinating to see how this order shifts around after the draft, due to landing spot. But knowing the order these top-30 players are being drafted in before the NFL Draft is information that can be very useful while you plan for your dynasty rookie or startup drafts.
