2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray finally goes to Cardinals
By Brad Weiss
The 2018 NFL season was certainly an interesting one for the Seattle Seahawks, who came out of nowhere to earn a Wild Card spot. Prior to the season, many felt that the Seahawks just did not have enough talent to challenge for a spot in the playoffs, but whenever you have Russell Wilson at quarterback, you’re going to be solid.
This off-season, most of the talk circled around Wilson, who was looking to get a new long-term deal in place, and was willing to shelve the conversation after April 15. The Seahawks and Wilson were able to get that done in the 11th hour, as they will retain their franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future.
On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks need to do something to improve their secondary, and adding Greedy Williams with the 21st overall pick makes a lot of sense here. Williams is by far one of the top cornerbacks available in this year‘s draft, and some even believe he may be the best of the bunch.
This is the Seahawks team that should be right back in the mix and NFC West this upcoming season, and they do have one of the best head coaches in football and Pete Carroll. When it comes to the Seahawks, they will be looking to add to a defense that was once the pride of this organization, and utilizing a first round pick on that side of the ball should improve a secondary that needs more bodies at the cornerback spot.
