2019 NFL mock draft: Kyler Murray finally goes to Cardinals
By Brad Weiss
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished in the cellar of the NFC South last season, making this off-season an important one in terms of the franchise moving forward. After the season, the team fired head coach Dirk Koetter, and then went out and got Bruce Arians to come out of retirement to take over on the sidelines.
With Arians installed as the head coach, the Buccaneers will now shift their focus to getting quarterback Jameis Winston, and his career back on track. The team selected Winston with the first overall pick five years ago, and he has still yet to reach his potential as a signal-caller in the NFL, despite showing flashes of great potential.
Fast forward to Thursday, and the Buccaneers are in a position to add a talented linebacker in the person of Devin White from LSU. This off-season, the Bucs lost star linebacker Kwon Alexander to free agency, and White is the kind of player that could come right in and fill the void left by him at that position.
Last year, White had over 130 tackles for the Tigers, and is that rare linebacker who is able to play sideline to sideline. This is a Buccaneers team that has the talent to make some moves in the NFC this upcoming season, but it will really all rest on the relationship between Winston and Arians, who has been known to do wonders with quarterbacks in the past.
