Jachai Polite

There really hasn’t been anything that has gone Polite’s way in the lead up to the NFL Draft. He performed abysmally at the combine, reportedly complaining about team interviews. Since then, he hasn’t done really anything to make himself look better in the eyes of the media. There have been plenty of players who have botched their combine and gone on to have productive NFL careers.

That being said, Polite’s combine was truly awful. He finished penultimate in the EDGE class for players who ran the 40-yard dash with a 4.84. He was unhappy about interviews conducted by teams. While his film in 2018 was remarkable, he looked the part of a mid-first round pick who would go on to be a solid contributor for any NFL teams for years to come.

Polite’s fall has been stunning to watch and some mock drafts don’t even see Polite going until the late second round. Teams may find themselves at the end of the first or early in the second and decide his production is too great to pass up. But, for now, it appears Polite is going to miss out on a lot of money and the pedigree that comes with being drafted in the first round.
