27. Oakland Raiders (via Dallas Cowboys) – Noah Fant, TE, Iowa

The third and final pick of the first round for the Raiders sees Mayock and Gruden adding another skill position player to help Derek Carr reach the next level of his game. Noah Fant entered the year as the top tight end in college but was outplayed and overshadowed by his teammate, T.J. Hockenson, who was mocked in the Top 10.

Fant, however, is a different type of tight end and has rare athletic ability and speed at the position. Fant isn’t going to line up next to the offensive tackle and aid in run blocking. Fant is going to line up all over the formation and be a mismatch nightmare for the defense. He’s Aaron Hernandez without the off-field concerns.

28. Los Angeles Chargers – Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple

The Chargers strengthened their secondary last year with the selection of Florida State safety Derwin James and double down with the pick of Rock Ya-Sin. Easily one of the best names in the draft, or any draft, Ya-Sin has been a steady riser in the pre-draft process. Few paid attention to Temple, but those who did saw Ya-Sin jump out on the film with his ability to mirror and shadow receivers. He should provide valuable depth and could allow Desmond King to see more time in the base defense with Ya-Sin helping in sub-packages.
