Final 2019 NFL Mock Draft: Ed Oliver rises, Dwayne Haskins slides
7. Jacksonville Jaguars – Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida
The Jaguars brought in Nick Foles to replace Blake Bortles. Now, the Jaguars need to make sure they keep him upright and healthy. That means taking the best offensive lineman who can wall off defenders to allow Foles the time to stand tall in the pocket and allow his receivers to get downfield. The Jaguars have been burned by taking a tackle high in the draft (Luke Joeckel) but Taylor has a high floor that should see him settle at right tackle.
8. Detroit Lions – T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa
Iowa tight end T.J. Hockenson won the Mackey Award as the nation’s top tight end last year. The 6-5, 250-pounder blossomed in 2018, hauling in 49 receptions for 760 yards and six touchdowns. And he did that with Noah Fant drawing attention as well. Rarely will you ever see a team with two tight ends this talented. Hockenson is a complete player who excels in the run game as a blocker, can lineup anywhere on the offense and his hands are vice grips when he gets the ball. Allen just found his new security blanket.
