5. Mississippi WR A.J. Brown

A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf are two stud wide receivers from Ole Miss who could hear their names called in the second round of the draft, and either one of them would have been valid selections in the first. However, not many wide receivers heard their names called off the board, and the likes of Brown and Metcalf have to wait to learn who their new teams will be for, hopefully, the next four or five years.

Brown has been viewed by some as the top wide receiver prospect in the draft, as he and Hakeem Butler have future No. 1 wide receiver potential. Versatility is the name of the game, and Brown can make an impact on the inside or the outside. Any offense can benefit from moving Brown all over the field, and he’s a polished route-runner who checks off all the boxes physically.

Last season, Brown dazzled in the SEC with 85 receptions for over 1,300 yards, a strong follow up from his 1,200-yard and 11-touchdown sophomore campaign in 2017.

A playmaker with down-to-down consistency, Brown could be a dream get for Kyler Murray, as the Arizona Cardinals need to surround him with more weapons than just Larry Fitzgerald and the emerging Christian Kirk at wide receiver. With N’Keal Harry off the board, Brown could be the upgrade the Cardinals need.
