37. Seattle Seahawks—Rock Ya-Sin CB Temple

Seattle traded out of the first round with its second pick of the night after shocking many by taking TCU edge rusher L.J. Collier with their first pick. Collier fills a need and once again proves the Seahawks see the draft differently than other teams. They still need some help along in the secondary and get the most physical corner with Temple’s Rock Ya-Sin. The former wrestler will be right at home playing outside corner in coach Pete Carroll’s defense. He’s got a tough transition coming from the Owls but has crushed the entire pre-draft process.

38. Jacksonville Jaguars—Jawaan Taylor OT Florida

This was a pick that was commonly mocked to the Jaguars in the first round. Instead they watched as Kentucky edge rusher Josh Allen fell into their lap. They once again sit back and let the board fall to them and take Florida offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor. This is eerily similar to when they grabbed their left tackle Cam Robinson two years ago after he fell out of the first round. Taylor is a powerful right tackle who showcased great improvement last year. He may have fallen for medical concerns but if he is cleared by the team’s doctor, he’s a plug-and-play right tackle for the Jaguars.

39. Tampa Bay Buccaneers—Erik McCoy, OL, Texas A&M

Tampa Bay did little to hide its love for LSU linebacker Devin White and he was the Buccaneers selection with the fifth overall pick. He’s going to lead what is turning into a young, talented defense. It still needs some upgrades, especially along the offensive line. Erik McCoy of Texas A&M is a versatile offensive lineman who can play center or guard. He’d plug right in next to last year’s free agent signee, Ryan Jansen, at right guard. McCoy is a great athlete who brings a punch when on the move. He’ll need to work on his pass sets to keep long interior guys off him, but projects as a long-term starter in the NFL

40. Buffalo Bills—D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss

The Bills were another team that let the board fall to them in the first round and wound up grabbing an excellent player in Ed Oliver. Buffalo knew it needed to beef up its defensive line and help the pass rush. That is what Oliver will do. Now in the second round they need to continue to help their young quarterback. They signed some receivers this offseason, but none profile as a top option. D.K. Metcalf of Ole Miss does just that. His 4.3 speed at his size pairs perfectly with Josh Allen’s monster arm. The fear of his slow agility testing should not stop Buffalo from running this card to the table. Metcalf will be a scary down field threat for Allen and open up the offense for their running game behind the new look offensive line.
