4. Arizona Cardinals

Teams who enter the draft with the No. 1 overall pick should manage to come away with a good class. The Cardinals did a good job of keeping things simple and coming away with a healthy amount of talent.

Obviously, this class will largely be judged on whether or not Kyler Murray can develop into the Pro Bowl quarterback Kliff Kingsbury believes he can be. It might take him a while to succeed given the lack of veteran talent around him, but there’s a good chance he develops into a franchise quarterback.

Don’t sleep on the rest of this class, though. Byron Murphy slipped into the second round, but he’s got a chance to be an immediate starter at cornerback. He’s not a great workout guy, but his college tape at Washington was excellent. Murphy’s nose for the football gives him a chance to be a difference-maker at the next level.

Zach Allen isn’t going to blow anyone away with his physical traits, but he’s a grinder on the edge. It’s easy to envision him becoming a solid starter for years to come. The same can be said about Deionte Thompson at safety.

Arizona had a ton of needs coming into the draft and they managed to fill a lot of them. The Cardinals aren’t going to instantly become playoff contenders on the backs of just this class, but it is a step in the direction for the franchise.
