High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,250

James Harden (at GS – $10,100): Needs 47.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME: 55.5 fantasy points against Utah. Harden was Harden in the first round and he should be better against the Warriors because the Rockets really want this series. That’s not saying the Warriors don’t. But there’s something special about this Rockets team. And Harden will want to make a statement right off the bat. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Steph Curry (vs HOU – $8,200): Needs 38.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME: 43 fantasy points against LA Clippers. Steph is dealing with a bum ankle and you don’t know if you’re getting 53 percent Steph, 17 percent Steph or 93 percent Steph. We won’t know until after the game and it will be entirely based on how he plays. At least his salary has dropped to a nice spot. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

High Value SG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Khris Middleton (vs BOS – $6,200): Needs 28.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME: 25 fantasy points against Detroit. Middleton was more good than bad against the Pistons and his salary has dropped below the average line, which certainly helps. He averaged 38.3 fantasy points in three games against the Celtics this season. I love Middleton as a value player on Sunday. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Eric Gordon (at GS – $4,900): Needs 22.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME: 29.7 fantasy points against Utah. Gordon was solid in the first round and we know he has a high ceiling based on his minutes and opportunities. He was up-and-down against the Warriors last postseason and throughout this season. This is what his game is. He should be around value if nothing else. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
