High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Clint Capela (at GS – $7,500): Needs 33.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 14.2 fantasy points against Golden State. Capela was yikes in Game 1. He’s better than he showed. And the Rockets definitely need him to be better. But he struggled a bit against the Warriors in the playoffs last season. So maybe this just isn’t his matchup? Still, expect more than he gave in Game 1. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

Al Horford (at MIL – $7,000): Needs 31.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 49.7 fantasy points against Milwaukee. I told you before Game 1 that Horford excels against the Bucks and he didn’t let me down in Game 1. Can he keep it up all series? Probably. Maybe not to the extent we saw in Game 1, but he’s going to be here and in the face of Giannis all series. He’s a more reliable option with a higher ceiling than Capela at this point. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Brook Lopez (vs BOS – $5,800): Needs 25.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 8.6 fantasy points against Boston. Lopez was a non-factor in Game 1 but you have to expect him to be better in Game 2. He’s always a risky player with a high ceiling because much of his value relies on his ability to hit from deep. And he didn’t hit from deep in Game 1. He’s still your best value option. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Nene (at GS – $3,700): Needs 16.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 20.9 fantasy points against Golden State. Nene had a strong Game 1 but I don’t know if he can do it again. The Warriors are targeting him on defense and even though he’s contributing with numbers, his minutes might go down because the Rockets can’t afford to give up free points. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.
