New York Jets

Draft Class: Quinnen Williams, DT |  Jachai Polite, EDGE | Chuma Edoga, T | Trevon Wesco, TE | Blake Cashman, LB | Blessaun Austin, CB

One of the smaller draft classes, the New York Jets were working behind the eight ball. Last year’s trade for franchise quarterback Sam Darnold left them in a bit of the hole for the 2019 NFL Draft. Luckily some maneuvering around day two netted them some extra selections.

Obviously, Quinnen Williams is the prize of the class. Possibly the best player in the entire group of prospects, Williams is a beast at defensive tackle that has a sky-high ceiling after only starting for one year at Alabama. Williams will pair well with Leonard Williams and give New York a pair of elite interior players on their defense.

Polite was a risk but at the top of the third round, with the massive hole the Jets have on the edge, his talent was too good to pass up. Hopefully Adam Gase and company can keep him in line because on tape Polite was a top-20 talent.

Two smart selections for New York were Edoga and Cashman. Edoga has the potential to start at right tackle right off the bat. If he gets some added strength this could be a long-term starter at the position, a massive need for this team. Cashman was a rangy linebacker that belonged in day two of this draft. His skill set and testing should get him on the field as a weakside linebacker for this Jets team with C.J. Mosley manning the middle.
