12. Brandon Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210

Who wasn’t positively head-over-heels in love with Brandon Walsh? From the moment Jason Priestley batted those baby blues and flashed that innocent smile in the very first episode of Beverly Hills, 90210, the whole world fell for Brandon before that iconic theme could get stuck in our heads forever. But the basis of Brandon’s character wasn’t all hair and handsome good looks. He was, for the most part, the nicest guy in Beverly Hills, often serving as the voice of reason for his wilder group of friends.

If you made a list of all the sweet things Brandon did and compared it to a list of not-so-sweet things he did, the ratio would skyrocket in favor of sweet. For starters, he once offered to help a homeless man land a job at the beach club and later brought him home for Thanksgiving. He didn’t trust Andrea’s conservative boyfriend, he never left Donna’s side when her stalker took her hostage, and he fought racism in a small Southern town with one little kiss.

Of course, Brandon Walsh isn’t the sole likable character in the zip code. Each character has their moments, as none of them are totally despicable, irredeemable monsters. (Well, Valerie Malone is a different story.) There’s an argument to be made the Donna Martin and Andrea Zuckerman could also earn the most likable crown, but when it comes to leading men on TV, a guy like Brandon Walsh is hard to come by. A strong moral compass, liberal values, and those eyes? Yeah, there’s a reason an entire generation had a huge crush on him.
