2020 NFL mock draft: Tua Tagovailoa goes to Dolphins
By Brad Weiss
The Carolina Panthers had the most disappointing end of the 2018 NFL season as any team in the league, losing seven of their last eight games. In fact, had it not been for a season finale win against a Drew Brees-less New Orleans Saints team, the Panthers would have gone a perfect 0-8 in their second half slate.
The big issue with the Panthers last season was the fact that Cam Newton could not stay healthy, and that led to him having to be sat down later in the year. They are going to need him to be 100 percent if they are going to do anything in the NFC South, which should be one of the better divisions in football next season.
During the 2019 NFL Draft, the Panthers were expected to use their first round pick on an edge rusher, as they will try to fill the void left by Julius Peppers this upcoming season, and they did just that. Carolina added Brian Burns from Florida State, who is dominant off the edge, and in 2020, they should get him a bookend.
Nick Coe from Auburn is another one of those guys who just has a knack at getting after the quarterback, and he would be a nice fit along this Panthers defensive line. Putting pressure on the quarterback is so huge in today’s game, and if the Panthers can get Coe, look out Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, and Jameis Winston.
