The Washington Redskins got their new franchise quarterback during the 2019 NFL Draft, selecting Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State. Haskins has all the arm talent to be a good one at the NFL level, and it will be interesting to see how quickly they move him along, and what the story is with Alex Smith in 2020.

Smith saw his leg shattered against the Houston Texans during the 2018 season, and he has already been ruled out for 2019. The Redskins did bring in Case Keenum to be the team’s quarterback in 2019, but if he falters, expect Haskins to get his shot early in year one.

Looking at this roster moving forward, it would make sense that the Redskins would add an offensive tackle during the 2020 NFL Draft. If you are going to invest in a quarterback in the first round, you have to start putting solid players in front of him, and Walker Little from Stanford is considered the best offensive tackle in this draft class.

Washington did a nice job during the 2019 NFL Draft, but they are going to struggle to put wins together next season, especially if Keenum starts the entire time. Head coach Jay Gruden could be shown the door if they miss the playoffs yet again, so the expectation is that they will be picking near the top of the draft in 2020.
