2020 NFL mock draft: Tua Tagovailoa goes to Dolphins
By Brad Weiss
The Philadelphia Eagles went back to the playoffs last season, their second straight trip to the playoffs with backup quarterback Nick Foles under center. In 2019, they will not have that kind of luxury, as Foles is now the starting quarterback in Jacksonville, leaving the Eagles with just Carson Wentz.
Not that it is a bad thing, as Wentz has shown that when he is healthy, he can be an absolute stud from the quarterback position. The big question is whether or not he can be available when the Eagles make their playoff run this season, as they certainly have the talent on both sides of the ball to be in the discussion all season long.
During the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Philadelphia selected Washington State offensive tackle Andre Dillard, which was a great pick at No. 22 overall. Dillard will one day replace future Hall of Famer Jason Peters as Wentz’s left tackle, and in 2020, the team should bolster the interior.
Daryl Williams from Mississippi State is one of the better interior offensive linemen in this draft class, and he should certainly hear his name called in the first round. Protecting Wentz has got to be priority No. 1, and with how bad this offense was running the ball last season, getting better in the interior will help with that as well.
