2020 NFL mock draft: Tua Tagovailoa goes to Dolphins
By Brad Weiss
The Buffalo Bills got better along the defensive line in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, selecting Houston star defensive tackle Ed Oliver. Oliver is a special prospect, one who could end up being the best defensive tackle this draft class has to offer, and it will be interesting to see how he does in Buffalo.
While Oliver was a solid choice, and the Bills needed a defensive tackle after Kyle Williams retired after last season, Buffalo still needs to add help on the edge. The best edge rusher in the 2020 NFL Draft class right now is Chase Young from Ohio State, who has the talent to be just as good as Nick Bosa, his teammate who went No. 2 overall to San Francisco Thursday night.
In Young, Buffalo would have the kind of standout defensive end that they have been lacking, and they need a player of his caliber if they want to get back to the playoffs. Buffalo finally erased a long playoff drought two years ago, head coach Sean McDermott’s first season with the team, but they took a step back last year.
The 2018 NFL season was not kind to Buffalo, but they did get to insert rookie quarterback Josh Allen into the starting lineup, giving him great experience in year one. This team is only going to go as far as he will take them, but adding Young to a defensive line that recently brought on Oliver can’t hurt.
