1. Ndamukong Suh and Indianapolis Colts

There have been some really interesting thoughts floating around in regards to Ndamukong Suh. the former All-Pro defensive tackle. Perhaps a return to Miami is in the cards, maybe he goes back to the Rams to win a Super Bowl, maybe the Seahawks pick him up to attempt to replace the pass-rushing production of Frank Clark.

Still, there’s a much better fit to be considered in the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts have done some work to improve their pass rush, adding defensive end Ben Banogu in the second round of the draft and adding Justin Houston in free agency. However, the pass rush is still a significant area of need for a team that believes it can compete for a AFC Championship this season.

In order to compete with the top-flight quarterbacks in the AFC like Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, and Patrick Mahomes, the Colts must improve their ability to generate pressure when it matters most in January. An inability to do so cost the team gravely in the playoffs a few months ago.

In addition, the team was unable to stop the run, either. The pass-first Chiefs racked up 175 yards and four rushing touchdowns on the Colts in that game.

Suh is not the player he once was. But, he is still more than capable against the run, and an effective pass-rusher at the point of attack. Pro Football Focus rated him as the 20th-best defensive tackle in football last year. That isn’t Pro Bowl caliber – but it represents a vast improvement for Indianapolis heading in to the 2019 season.
