High Value Guards

Players costing under $12,000

Gary Harris (vs POR – $10,500): Needs 45 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27 fantasy points against Portland. You know what you’re getting out of Harris at this point. The minutes and opportunities are there and he’s a reliable player because of everything he brings to the table. He’s at a decent enough price as well. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Torrey Craig (vs POR – $9,500): Needs 40.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 6.6 fantasy points against Portland. Craig was a non-factor in Game 1, which isn’t a good sign. He is starting and maybe he sees more minutes in Game 2 but things didn’t look good after the first game. And you can’t afford that big of a miss at this salary. There are better salary saving options given the information out there. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a decent ceiling.

Malik Beasley (vs POR – $7,000): Needs 30 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 20.3 fantasy points against Portland. Beasley would seem to be a more reliable option as his minutes were there in Game 1 compared to Craig. Of course, with Denver’s depth, you never know who is going to have the big game. Based on Game 1, Beasley seems to be the best option. But you can almost take your pick. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.
