10. Chicago Cubs, 15-12, tied for 2nd in the NL Central (ranked 10th last week)

The Cubs rotation has looked strong as of late, minus Kyle Hendricks’ most recent start, the group has helped Chicago win 7 of their last 10 games. Yu Darvish is coming off his best start of the year as the Japanese-star holds to improve on a disappointing 2018 season. The offense has been lead by Javier Baez, who has continued to build off his MVP-worthy 2018 season, as Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant begin to heat up. Chicago’s main concern is the bullpen, despite lowering their ERA, as they continue to make things difficult later in games. Closer Brandon Morrow suffered a setup back in recovery from shoulder surgery and is now a question mark to return at all this season. But right now, their starting pitching and offense have been good enough to look past that for the moment.

9. Minnesota Twins, 17-10, 1st in the AL Central (ranked 13th last week)

The Twins are 7-3 over their last 10 games as their offense has exploded, averaging 5.42 runs per game on the season. Much of that offensive input has come from Eddie Rosario, who has clubbed 11 homers with a .920 OPS on the year. Add in SS Jorge Polanco and his incredible start to 2019 as well as Max Kepler’s 4 homers in the past 5 games and the Twins offense starts humming. The pitching has been good enough for the moment, but with a lot of unproven pitchers in both the rotation and bullpen, the Twins could easily start to unravel if their offense starts to slow down.
