High Value Guards

Players costing under $8,333

Fred VanVleet (at PHI – $4,200): Needs 19.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 11 fantasy points against Philadelphia. VanVleet just hasn’t been getting it done in the playoffs. He’s getting decent minutes and he can score while taking on a playmaking role, but it just hasn’t been there in the playoffs and in this series. Maybe he has a breakout game in Game 2. Minutes do matter and he does get minutes. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a decent ceiling.

JJ Redick (vs TOR – $5,800): Needs 26.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 14.25 fantasy points against Toronto. And Redick can’t shoot again. The minutes and shots are going to be there for him and his salary isn’t too bad in a single game but you just need him to hit more than he’s giving you right now. Maybe the trip home will help him. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Danny Green (at PHI – $5,000): Needs 22.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 13.5 fantasy points against Philadelphia. Speaking of guys who can’t hit shots. Green is getting his looks, good looks at that, but they aren’t following for him right now. He will continue to get minutes and shots and you have to think they will start falling at some point. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a good ceiling.
