High Value Guards

Players costing under $12,000

Danny Green (at PHI – $9,500): Needs 40.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 14.8 fantasy points against Philadelphia. At some point, Danny Green has to knock down shots, right? He’s getting good looks, they just aren’t going down. He’s too good of a shooter to keep struggling. The minutes and opportunities are certainly going to be. There for him. He just needs to control the ball going in. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.

Fred VanVleet (at PHI – $8,000): Needs 34.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 13.8 fantasy points against Philadelphia. While Green is at least getting the opportunities, VanVleet isn’t getting a ton of minutes and definitely isn’t doing much with those minutes. VanVleet does have the ability to get hot and deliver a strong game. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a decent ceiling.

James Ennis III (vs TOR – $6,000): Needs 24.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 26.2 fantasy points against Toronto. We’re going to cheat and put Ennis here if though he’s a forward because the guard options are extra yikes and no one has an actual position anyway. If Mike Scott doesn’t end up playing, Ennis will be a good option. But if Scott does play, Ennis may not get the minutes needed to have a good outing. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.
