Counter-Strike Global Offensive – Bet Breakdown

Hello everyone! Freshie here and I am bringing you some new and a different type of article! All about ESports! You know, the industry of competitive video-gaming. Yes, that’s right, video games have reached a new height of entertainment and has broken down the doors for competitive gaming. There are people earning the top dollar in some of your favorite video games by competing in tournaments as a pro-league team, taking home close to six figures.

There are over 25 video games used in the ESports industry currently and while they aren’t all of your favorites, the tournaments get pretty intense. I do have to warn you guys though, not all books and betting websites cover every single ESports contest sadly. I’ll do my best to target the ones that are on major sites.

For today’s and majority of this weekend of 5/3-5/6, the main ESports tournament is for one of my favorites, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. A video game that pits two teams against each other, five versus five, in a search and destroy game type mode. One side plays as the “terrorist” and goes to plant the bomb at one of the two sites, A or B. The opposing team is playing as the Counter-Terrorist and their goal is to either eliminate the terrorist before they plant the bomb or defuse the bomb afterwards.

For this contest, the two teams will pick what maps they play on for the Best of 3 tournament format. Each map will end when one of the teams reaches 16 round wins. Overtime rules go to best of 5 if needed.

For betting purposes, it is just as simple and basic as sports betting also. We have the usual money-line which is the straight up bet. We also have the spread which is usually -1.5 or +1.5 which means a team needs to win 2-0 for the best of three this weekend. Lastly we have the O/U of 2.5 for this weekends. Taking the over means you expect the two teams to play all three maps and taking the under means you expect a clean sweep for one team.

Hopefully this wasn’t too much to take in but lets get in to my Friday Favorite Plays! Good luck and hope you enjoy!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive – The Top Friday Plays!

Gamerlegion vs. Windigo

H2H: Gamerlegion 2-0 Windigo

Now this is a pretty easy one for me and everyone else I believe. Gamerlegion has already beaten the Windigo squad twice, 16 to 14 rounds and then 16 to 7 rounds. This will be a best of three, pitting the two teams against each other on three different maps. We can probably expect Overpass and Mirage being two of the maps with Windigo having a win rate of 79% on Overpass. Gamerlegion loving Mirage with a 67% winrate.

Gamerlegion just has the number of Windigo here, even with the public being on GL 64%. Windigo is coming off of 4 solid straight wins and Gamerlegion winning three straight.

Bets to place: Gamerlegion ML +125 | Over 2.5

HellRaisers vs. Vega Squadron

Debut H2H

Now this looks to be a very straight forward match-up for the HellRaisers but both teams are coming in with a shaky past five games. HellRaisers have won three of the past five but the two losses came with a sweep. Vega Squadron has been pretty horrible losing four of their last five.

Scoobyxie of the Vega Squadron is one of the highest rated players currently though. He has a .83 rating for damage while averaging close to a kill per round plus an assist. He may be the reason that will keep Vega Squadron in this one but not win it.

Bets to place: Over 2.5 (Gamerlegion either sweeps for the win or loses 0-2)

AVANGAR vs. DreamEaters

H2H: AVANGER 1-0 DreamEaters

Another one that isn’t promising for a sweat but should be a decent one. AVANGAR’s do hold the battle 1-0 between the two but has also had a pretty good past five games. They did just recently lose 1-2 to the dominating OpTic team but won 4 straight before that. The DreamEaters have lost the past two games versus Windigo and Gamerlegion but won the other three before that.

The DreamEaters will most likely look to play on Mirage and Inferno as they have a win rate of 70% or higher. The AVANGAR’s also have a win rate of 72% on Mirage and near 65% on Inferno. So we’ll most likely get those two maps. Nuke and Vertigo will most likely be avoided as both teams have no positive win percentage on there. This match-up could end up being closer then expected by most.
