High Salary Guards

Players costing over $12,000

Stephen Curry (at HOU – $14,000): Needs 60.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37.1 fantasy points against Houston. Curry has been fine in this series but you need a little bit more from him given his overall salary. But the injury might be taking its toll and with Durant being Durant, they don’t exactly need Curry to be Curry. He will get numbers because that’s what he does but I don’t know if I would quite make him my MVP. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Chris Paul (vs GS – $12,500): Needs 53.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 40.4 fantasy points against Golden State. Paul has been a reliable option all playoffs and while I thought he would step up in Game 2, I really think he’ll step up in Game 3. This is do-or-die for the Rockets and Paul doesn’t want to go out like this. I expect his best game of the series on Saturday. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

James Harden (vs GS – $17,000): Needs 72.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 39.2 fantasy points against Golden State. You need a big game out of Harden and if he’s going to have a big game, this would be the time to do it. There are the obvious red flags. The first is that he just hasn’t been scoring the ball all that well in recent games. The second is the eye injury which could be worse than he wants to lead on. But he’s still James Harden and I would hope that he is going to go down swinging in this series. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
