High Value Forwards/Centers

Players costing over $12,000

Austin Rivers (vs GS – $6,500): Needs 27.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 15.2 fantasy points against Golden State. We’re cheating as Rivers is a guard but we’re not actually worried about positions. Rivers has earned a spot in D’Antoni’s playoff rotation, which means he’s going to get the minutes and opportunities. He can get hot and we know he’ll get shots. He’s at a good salary and could show up in a big way in this game. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.

PJ Tucker (vs GS – $9,500): Needs 41.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 31 fantasy points against Golden State. Tucker bounced back with a strong Game 2 because he actually hit some shots. He was never going to be as cold as he was in Game 1. And being at home should be a decent boost for his value although last time the Rockets played the Warriors at home in the playoffs, they couldn’t buy a bucket from three. Tucker will still get minutes and chances. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Kevon Looney (at HOU – $7,500): Needs 32.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 11.3 fantasy points against Houston. Not much to like after the top two value options as it’s filled with guys who aren’t going to get a lot of playing time. Maybe you like House or Gerald Green in hopes that. They earn extra minutes and hit some shots with. The Rockets being at home? Looney gets decent minutes and can contribute something. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.
