4. C.J. Prosise, RB, Seattle Seahawks

Injuries have derailed what was once thought of as a career that could really take off. Prosise has managed to play in just 16 total games in his three years as a pro. Last season, Seattle had already functionally given up on the back, as he carried the ball only one time in the course of five games in which he saw action.

Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny clearly are the favored backs in the team’s offensive gameplan, and that seems unlikely to change. The team has added some competition for the third spot, and sixth-round pick Travis Homer is almost certain to be favored, if nothing else because he has demonstrated the capacity to stay healthy in college.

3. Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots

This could be one of the more surprising moves of the offseason, but the Patriots have long been commended for moving on from aging players at just the right time. The 28-year-old has been reliable in New England throughout his time there, but there does not seem to be a need for him on the roster anymore.

Sony Michel emerged as the top option last season, limiting Burkhead to just 57 carries and 14 receptions during the regular season. That alone may not have pushed Burkhead off the roster, but the drafting of third-round running back Damien Harris almost certainly does. With Michel, James White and Harris all seemingly guaranteed roster spots, its difficult to see how the one time Nebraska Cornhusker makes the final cut.
